WEEKEND - RICK DEES WEEKLY TOP 40: THE 80'S
|

"The Weekly Top 40" was started as an
alternative to the popular radio show "American Top 40 With Casey Kasem".
Unlike Casey's show, Rick Dees would host the "Weekly Top 40" and fill it
not only with the biggest hits but also Dees Sleeze and 80's comedy.
Prior to the "Weekly Top 40", Rick Dees was
already very successful in the world of music. While working for WMPS-AM in
Memphis, TN, he wrote and recorded "Disco Duck" which gave him instant
international success.
Rick Dees has also worked at KHJ and
KIIS-FM in California, and the "Weekly Top 40" has been heard
internationally on hundreds of radio stations. The countdown show still
produces new episodes every week on broadcast radio today.
